Application Procedures

  1. You should carefully study our Membership Regulations and Minimum Requirements under Insurance Companies Ordinance (ICO) before you complete the application forms.
  2. Download and complete the relevant forms as categorized below:
    1. Application form for Membership (For Corporate Member)
    2. Application form for Technical Representative
    3. Application form for Change of Chief Executive (CE)
    4. Cancellation form for Technical Representative
    5. Membership Withdrawal Conditions and Requirements
    6. Others

  3. Please ensure that all the required documents and cheques are appended with your completed application forms. Incomplete application forms, insufficient documents and cheques with defects will definitely delay your application.
  4. For submitting application of corporate membership, the proposed CE or his/her representative must contact PIBA Secretariat at 2869 8515 to make an appointment with our Membership Sub-Committee staff. During the appointment, our staff will verify the submitted documents; the process may take about 30 minutes. Any application submitted to us without making an appointment will be returned to the applicant by courier.
  5. Upon receipt of full and satisfactory documents, our Membership Sub-Committee shall proceed your application accordingly. Please refer to the Flow Chat regarding the application procedure.
  6. For corporate membership, interview(s) with the CE will be arranged when all required documents were received by the Secretariat. All CE should be well familiar with the Insurance Companies Ordinance (ICO) of HKSAR and the Minimum Requirements for Insurance Brokers that specified by the Insurance Authority.
  7. We will notify you the result of the application in about 21 days after the interview(s).
